Huo Guang deposed the King of Changyi and welcomed Bingyi (Liu Bingyi), great-grandson of Shangguan Li, from Chang'an; in the seventh month he ascended the throne at Weiyang Palace (Emperor Xuan). (Book of Han (Hanshu), Imperial Annals 漢書卷008 宣帝元平元年七月)
Huo Guang, with the ministers, had an audience with the Empress Dowager and reported that the King of Changyi could not succeed to the ancestral temple. The Empress Dowager came out to the Chengming Hall of Weiyang and blocked the golden gate, so that the Changyi officials could not enter.
